Selecting a photo creates a local preview
When you choose, drop or paste an accepted image, the uploader creates a browser preview. Selecting the file alone does not submit it to the age estimation service. You can check that you chose the intended photo before running the estimate.
Your original file stays on your device. The app does not need access to your whole photo library to use the file you selected.
Running the estimate sends a prepared copy
The browser decodes the selected image, reduces it to at most 640 pixels on its longest side and re-encodes it for upload. It sends that prepared image with a generic upload filename. It does not send the original file unchanged.
The visible scene is still part of the prepared image. Resizing is not face anonymization, and the background may still be visible. Choose a portrait without documents, private screens or other people in the background if you do not want those details sent.
The live service uses an encrypted connection. The server must receive the image to calculate the result; the age model does not run entirely on your device.
The service processes the image and returns an age
According to the published privacy policy, the inference service decodes the photo in memory, computes the estimate and releases the image after responding. The policy states that uploads are not written to disk, retained in a cache or used for training.
These are the service commitments described in the policy. They are distinct from the local preview, which can remain visible in your browser after the server has returned its answer.
Photo retention and request logs are different
The policy describes short-lived operational logs containing request time, response status, inference duration and a truncated or hashed IP address. It says these logs contain neither the uploaded image nor its age estimate.
Hosting and delivery providers also process the network requests needed to serve the site. A policy against storing photographs does not mean that the service handles no request metadata. The privacy policy is the reference for those details.
Clear the preview when you finish
Use the reset control to clear the current photo and result from the uploader. Choosing another file replaces the preview. Closing the tab removes the page from view, but none of these actions deletes the original photo from your device.
A screenshot you take or a result you share is a separate copy under your control. On a shared device, close the page when you finish. Upload someone else's photo only with their permission, and do not upload photos of children.
